A great read

One of the things I'd like to do with this blog is use it to support fellow writers. Therefore, I am going to regularly feature book releases and perhaps do the odd review. If you have a book coming out, let me know and I'll post it as well. I just find there are so many writers and aspiring novelists in the blogging world, and they are all so supportive of each other, that I'd like to participate.

So, today I'd like to tell you about a book called Bitten & Smitten, by Michelle Rowen (a new release this month).I would classify the book as paranormal chick lit, although I think it's really classified as paranormal romance. The book is about Sarah Dearly, who has a bad blind date and ends up as a vampire. A 700-year-old suicidal vampire takes her under his wing to teach her the ropes. In this book, the vampires are the good guys and the vampire hunters are the bad guys. Dearly's goal is to find the 'cure' and she encounters much conflict on her journey. It's a great read and very funny. I found the read a little choppy, with one event happening after the other, and there is no way I would classify it as romance, but as a first novel, Rowen has done a great job.

Rowen has another paranormal romance due out in June, I think, called Angel with Attitude.

If you've read Bitten & Smitten, I'd like to hear what you thought of it.
